This Is How We Started

2005

Onshore was founded in Macon, Missouri. Establishes rural outsourcing model, creating an new industry.

2006

Onshore begins relationship as Microsoft Partner. Optimizes Rural Organic Workforce Development Model

2013

Onshore launches Microsoft Center of Excellence in Glennville, GA

2025

Twenty years later, Onshore has positively impacted over 5,000 rural Americans

Our Story Begins with Our Purpose.

For over two decades we've been carrying out our mission to revitalize rural America while enabling people to see and go beyond their difficult circumstances toward a better way of life. It was for this purpose that Onshore was founded in Macon, Missouri in 2005. Even from our humble beginnings, Onshore had an audacious goal...to Revitalize Rural America, while lifting people out of generational poverty. We saw three problems in the IT services space that needed to be solved:

IT salaries were skyrocketing, as were the bill rates of traditional US-based service providers.
Driven to contain cost, enterprises turned to offshore providers only to be hampered by language barriers, time-zones, high-turnover rates, quality issues and intellectual property and security concerns.
There was an entire swath of rural America, 60 million people strong, that had been completely overshot by the economic prosperity and opportunities brought by the IT economy. Rural America was in decline, in large part, due to the global outsourcing of manufacturing jobs.

It was against this backdrop, and with a clear purpose that Onshore was founded.

The Rise of Rural Outsourcing

At the heart of Onshore Outsourcing is its "Rural Outsourcing" model, a process whereby its workforce operates from our delivery campuses in rural America.

To make rural outsourcing work, We developed innovative approaches to workforce development, team structures, facility layout, and delivery models.
A wonderful outcome of Onshore's approach to rural outsourcing is that we retool under-employed and dislocated workers to become IT professionals.

In this way, Onshore has been revitalizing rural America, lifting people out of generational poverty, and creating a new middle class in the small towns we call home.

Over the past 20 years, Onshore has positively impacted over 5,000 Americans and is still fiercely dedicated to our mission of revitalizing rural America providing life-changing careers to Americans.
